1.10. Quick selection tool

The Quick selection tool in Photoshop is useful for quickly selecting part of a picture to duplicate or remove.

Copy the face picture, switch to Photoshop, create a new canvas and paste it.

Choose the Quick selection tool then draw on the area you want to select.

It might be hidden under the Object selection tool on the toolbar on the left. Click and hold on it to show the Quick selection tool.

Draw over the middle of the lips, not the edge, because Photoshop will guess the rest of the section it thinks you want. In the options at the top you can change the size of your brush. You can also click the brush with a minus sign if you select something you do not want. It will deselect that area.

Once you have selected the area you want you can copy and paste it, paint over it or delete it etc.

When you have finished editing, use the CTRL+D shortcut to deselect everything then choose another feature on the face to edit.
